ISTIKLAL MARŞI BESTECISI

İstiklal Marşı, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin milli marşıdır ve Mehmet Akif Ersoy tarafından yazılmıştır. Mehmet Akif Ersoy, 1873 yılında İstanbul'da dünyaya geldi ve askeri bir aileden geliyordu. Medrese eğitimi alarak şiire merak saran Ersoy, özellikle milli konulara dair şiirler yazmaya başladı.
1910 yılında Osmanlı Meclis-i Mebusan'ına seçilen Mehmet Akif Ersoy, I. Dünya Savaşı'nın başlamasıyla birlikte İstanbul'da kaldı ve milli bir şair olarak tanınmaya devam etti. 1919 yılında İstiklal Marşı'nın sözleri için bir yarışma düzenlendi ve Ersoy, bu yarışmada başarılı olup marşın sözlerini yazdı.
Marşın kabulünün ardından Ersoy, şiirlerini yayınlamaya devam ederek milli mücadele döneminde önemli bir figür haline geldi. Kurtuluş Savaşı'nın sona ermesinin ardından Ersoy, Ankara'da yeni Türkiye'nin oluşumuna katıldı ve ülkenin yeni edebiyat dergilerine katkıda bulundu.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy, İstiklal Marşı'nın yaptığı kadarın yanı sıra önemli şiirler de yazdı ve Türk edebiyatının en önemli isimleri arasında yerini aldı. 27 Aralık 1936 tarihinde vefat eden Ersoy, Türkiye'nin milli şairi olarak anılmaya devam etmektedir.
